Amir Kabirnezhad
Amir Kabirnejad was born in Tehran, Iran, in 1979. He studied at the Tehran University of Art and the University of Sistan and Baluchestan.
Kabirnejad is considered a multi-media artist due to his use of various materials and media. He founded the 'Copper' school and atelier and has held solo exhibitions at galleries such as Golestan, Shirin, Fereshteh City Book, Arya, Atbin, and Fiuz Gallery in Kashan. He has also conducted specialized workshops on paper cutting and sectoring in Moscow, Kazan, and St. Petersburg, Russia.
Kabirnejad works in various media, including painting, sculpture, bookbinding, printmaking, metalwork, meshwork, and paper cutting. Paper cutting, or sectoring, according to the late Yahya Zoka (1923-1990, a researcher of Iranian art history and Iranologist), dates back to the 9th century AH and its development is attributed to the Safavid era.
