Mohammad Ali Heddat
Mohammed Ali Heddat was born in November 1948 in Yazd, Iran. He graduated from the Isfahan Fine Arts School with a diploma in naturalistic painting in 1967.
Starting from September 1969, he resided in Tehran. Over the years, he frequently traveled between Tehran and Isfahan, finally settling in Isfahan in 1968. From 1969 to 1976, Heddat was a prolific movie poster designer, creating over 600 posters for both domestic and international films.
For the past 15 years, he has been teaching art in Isfahan, educating over 400 students, most of whom are now active painters.
Heddat's paintings are realistic and figurative, often focusing on natural landscapes and ethnographic portraits of nomadic tribes, particularly the Qashqai and Bakhtiari. His experiences living among these tribes during his time as an art teacher in Shahrekord from 1946 to 1947 profoundly influenced his artistic vision. He consistently expressed his fondness for rural and nomadic life, traditional occupations, and Iranian architecture in his paintings. Additionally, his life in a culturally rich city like Isfahan has shaped him into an artist who mirrors the soul of Iranian folk culture.
