Homa Shojaie

Homa Shojaie’s work explores the relationship between space, image, materiality, and perception. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture from The Cooper Union in New York City and an MA in Fine Arts from LaSalle College of the Arts in Singapore. Shojaie has taught at Pratt Institute, the Illinois Institute of Technology, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and LaSalle College of the Arts. She has also been a visiting artist at Arts Letters and Numbers, a platform fostering interdisciplinary dialogue. Her work has been exhibited in Chicago, New York, Detroit, Izmir, Kashan, and Singapore.

About her practice, Shojaie writes: "I make art to understand myself, resolve internal conflicts, explore mysteries, and capture the inherent light in the process of knowing. Rather than looking at things, I seek to delve into the space surrounding them." Her work transcends traditional boundaries, encompassing education, architecture, painting, textiles, and film, as she seeks to uncover unforeseen images and essences through the creative process.
