Amid the creations of Issey Miake
There was a time when the worlds of fashion and art each followed separate paths. In 1982, when for the first time, the image of a model wearing a black outfit appeared on the cover of 'Artforum', a specialized art magazine, this boundary was removed. The outfit, inspired by Samurai armor—a symbol of warrior spirit—was a challenge to fashion clichés, as if fashion, with this outfit, was ready to enter the world of art. The designer of that outfit was none other than Issey Miyake. This marked an important moment in the convergence of the worlds of fashion and art. Clothing entered museums, galleries, magazines, and art events, creating an interaction that opened new pathways both in the world of fashion and in the world of art.
